How to get rid of food allergies ;
Many people often confuse food reaction to food allergy. For them, when reacts negatively to a food, it is considered allergic to it. Actually, this is only food intolerance. A true food allergy, where the immune system of a person is caused by the non-food is as common as most people think. However, in recent years, the number of people who have true food allergy is growing. As of last count, two percent of adults and six percent of children have food allergies. Food Allergens and allergic reactions
Like most allergic reactions, food allergens are responsible for food allergies. They are mostly proteins that resist the heat of cooking, stomach acids and digestive enzymes. During the initial exposure to the allergen, the allergen stimulates lymphocytes to produce IgE antibody that is specific only to that allergen. IgE is released and binds to mast cells in the body. The next time the person is exposed to that food allergen, the allergen hones in IgE is found in mast cells and tells the cells to release chemicals such as histamine. Signs and symptoms of a true allergy to common foods include:
- tingling in the mouth;
- itching or eczema;
- swelling, especially around the lips, face, throat and neck;
- wheezing, nasal congestion, and a general difficulty in breathing;
- abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting
- dizziness, lightheadedness and fainting.

- identify food allergens. Make a chart or a list of all the foods you are allergic to, and make sure that you take with you wherever you are. In cases where you will not be able to have total control over what you eat, the list that people know what is or is not allowed in your case.
- Avoid foods that you are allergic. Avoidance is really the best way to control allergic reactions to food. Make sure you read all ingredients in a processed food. If you are not familiar with a certain food served in a restaurant, do not hesitate to ask the chef of the ingredients. The additional problem is more than worth the risk of going into anaphylaxis.
- It is recommended to bring your emergency medications. If you have a severe allergy, your doctor may offer injectable epinephrine, an adrenalin is used to treat anaphylaxis. You need to take this with you at all times so that you or someone else can give an emergency injection if necessary.
- Drug Test. less severe reactions can be treated with antihistamines. These may come as oral applications or creams, for topical use. Be sure to check with your doctor first to make sure you are getting the right for your allergy antihistamine.
Food allergies are a serious matter. They can be life threatening, so treat them with respect and care. Food is an important part of our life, but can have the same speed, too.
